There is a story on every street, in every community, to every city and
the Michigan Municipal League is asking you to tell it. This contest is
your opportunity to tell that story to more than 500 of Michigan's
elected officials, the same ones who decide the paths that the state will take. The
contest is calling for videos that have insight on creating,
sustaining, and improving Michigan's unique places.
Excerpt:
Michigan's success depends on our ability to attract talented, creative, and entrepreneurial types ... Communities with vibrant downtowns,
arts and culture, mass transit, and overall flexible and diverse environments
are what you are looking for…and they attract the 21st century
employers.
Make your voice heard in a video showing us what made you stay or what
made you move to your Michigan community. If you left, what caused you
to leave, and what would change your mind or bring you back? Submit your
5-minute (or less) personal story in YouTube
format by 5 p.m. September 15, 2008 to win a cash
prize (1st place
- $300; second and third places - $100).
We will showcase the top videos
before an exclusive
audience of 500+ elected community leaders at our
Annual Convention on Mackinac Island, October 1-4. If you have any questions
regarding the contest, send an email to [email protected].
