University of Detroit Mercy will offer $5,000 in down payment
assistance to any of its employees who buy homes in one of three
Detroit neighborhoods near its three campuses. JVS of Southfield will
match that amount.

University of Detroit Mercy will offer $5,000 in down payment assistance to any of its employees who buy homes in one of three Detroit neighborhoods near its three campuses. JVS of Southfield will match that amount.

The areas include Corktown, the East Riverfront and the University Commons-Palmer Park area.

Excerpt:

“This benefit is a win-win for the university, our employees and the
communities we serve,” President Gerard L. Stockhausen said in a
statement. “Over 130 years ago, we made an important commitment to the
city of Detroit, and initiatives like this are important in continuing
UDM’s investment in our city’s growth.”
