The holidays bring Detroiters home from all over. They also draw families to events in the city, like the lighting of the holiday tree and ice skating in Campus Martius and Noel Night. Detroit continues to go a little further for the early holiday season.
But first... this: Tweeters are unusually behind on the
buzz that's been building for Moth, a storytelling competition downtown
that's caught the attention of suburbanites and all.
Sending out a promotion tweet for the latest gathering, @Mothstories says: Tonight in Motor City, the theme is CARS, Cliff Bell's opens at 4p for those hungry for food and a seat, stories start at 730p.
It sold out, but a line of people insisting on seeing the action, waited outside in bitter cold. So, remember, get there early if you want a seat.
Back to the holiday season. Here's @Connanddetroit: get to spend it with some of your best friends/extended family, doing something you love. Make Detroit into your proverbial lemonade!
If you gotta hang out with your family, make lemonade, I guess he is saying.
@Brittanynoel caught on to CCS's take on Noel Night, which always has a good array: going to Noel Night in the cultural center of Detroit tonight!! CCS has an awesome art/craft sale and I can't wait to explore everything!
Too bad it's over, right? Next year my friends.
However, in case you did miss it, here's a sum up from
@Sgagne, though we're unsure about the Christ reference:
It's Noel Night in Midtown Detroit; which means shops are open late and the people will be crazy... and it's bitter cold! Must BE Christ! Keep reading and keep tweeting.
