Oscar-nominated screenwriter Simon Beaufoy has sunk his teeth into a new project ... and if he writes it well enough, he says it will be a movie for
Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle.
He's fallen in love with local adman Toby Barlow's first novel,
Sharp Teeth, a blood-dripping fictional account of werewolf gangs terrorizing Los Angeles. Beaufoy's currently nominated for a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for
127 Hours.
Excerpt:
There's no word yet on who would headline the cast if the project comes
to fruition. But it would bring Beaufoy together with not only Danny
Boyle but also producer Chris Colson. They all collaborated to create
the Oscar-adorned
Slumdog Millionaire as well as
127 Hours. Colson says, "We love working with each other - and we all somehow find ways to get the best out of each other."
