The
Detroit Riverfront Conservancy has announced the
Detroit International River Days, a six-day festival featuring music, maritime
activities including a bass fishing tournament and the much-loved
massive fireworks display that is one of the region's most-popular
annual events.

"Detroit takes pride in long-standing
summertime family traditions," Detroit Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick said
in a press release. He added that Detroit and the city of Windsor
wanted to share "our beautiful riverfront with the world."
