Excerpts from the article:

California celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck — whose Hollywood restaurant Spago helped him launch an empire of more 60 fine-dining and casual venues — may open a significant dining spot in the new MGM Grand Detroit Casino under construction downtown, he said in a radio interview Thursday.

Contracts haven’t been signed yet, “but it seems like we have a deal with them,” he told WCSX-FM (94.7) radio hosts Jim Johnson and Lynne Woodison.

An MGM spokesman and an official of Puck’s organization confirmed that discussions are under way. It would be the star chef’s first venture in Michigan.

Puck pioneered fine dining in a casino atmosphere. He has a well-established relationship with MGM and other major casino entities, operating Spago and Chinois at the Forum Shops at Caesars, the Trattoria del Lupo at Mandalay Bay, Postrio at the Venetian, and the Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at the MGM Grand.
