New PBS show to focus on Detroit's music scene

PBS will begin airing "Rock 'N' Roll Safari," a series showcasing local musicians on Saturday. Packaged from www.canyouhearmetv.com, a national series on indie music, the episodes will feature the Muggs, Hard Lessons, the Hotness and Sweet Sounds of Detroit.

"Detroit is known for its music scene -- it's Motown," says [producer James] McGovern. "It's our hometown and there's so much respect we have for the city. We hope to create a better image for it by bringing music here and promoting the local scene."
