Open City aims to boost ranks of local entrepreneurs

Liz Blondy of Canine to Five and Claire Nelson of The Bureau of Urban Living facilitate Open City, a networking group dedicated to growing the number of small businesses in the city.

"Claire and I are very passionate Detroiters," said Blondy, who owns Canine to Five, a dog day care and grooming business on Cass.

"We both think that Detroit is only going to grow. ... What's going to contribute to the city's growth is small businesses."
