The Skillman Foundation will share success stories from its Good Neighborhoods program at a Kids Matter Here Summit Jan. 26 at the Detroit Science Center.
Attendees
will hear from Detroiters in the Brightmoor, Chadsey/Condon,
Cody/Rouge, Northend, Osborn, and Vernor neighborhoods who have been
involved in the program. There will also be other community workshops
and opportunities to learn about health, education and safety
initiatives.
The keynote speaker will be John F. Barros, executive
director of the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, a nonprofit
community-based planning and organizing entity rooted in the Roxbury/North
Dorchester neighborhoods of Boston.
The event is from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 26 and offers free breakfast and lunch, child care and parking. For more information or to sign up go to:
