Midtown housing market continues to boom

Midtown development is on a roll, with 3,000 new housing units since 2000 - 1,500 of them students, according to the University Cultural Center Association. They estimate $1.6 million in investment, and are even seeing development spill onto blighted edgy blocks.

The Cass Corridor Neighborhood Development Corp. is working on its own unique project -- a museum dedicated to the Chinese community in Michigan. It would be in the former Burton International School on Cass.

"Now is the time for pursing big projects," said Patrick Dorn, head of the corporation. "It's great to see so many people becoming attracted to city living again.
