$800,000 makeover improves historical museum experience

The Detroit Historical Museum's 10-week, $800,000 makeover has "visibly improved" the museum, writer Roger Green says.

Among the new attractions are the exhibits "New to the Collection'' and "Treasures from the Collection,'' featuring historic items not usually displayed. New, too, are the exhibits "Fabulous Five: Detroit's Music Legends'' and "Digital Dress: Women About Town.'' Two mini exhibits, "Detroit Then & Now'' and "Automotive Showplace,'' occupy spaces freed during the museum makeover.
