Since assuming operations of Eastern Market, the Eastern Market
Corporation has spearheaded streetscape improvements and the
rehabilitation of Shed 2. According to financial reports filed with the
city, things are also looking up fiscally.

Reports
submitted to the City Council in December showed the market is doing
well since it went from being managed by city employees to the
nonprofit Eastern Market Corp. The city still owns the property, but it
is maintained and operated by the corporation.
