Detroit Film Theatre debuts renovation, new seats

The Detroit Film Theatre opened its winter season last week with Jean Renoir's The Rules of the Game -- and more importantly, new seats that represent architect Paul-Philippe Cret's original design.

The auditorium has been slightly reconfigured to accommodate chairs of a larger width, and a new wheel-chair-accessible space. From the fresh paint to meticulously restored guild work, the theater takes on a new shine, and hearkens back to its original splendor.
