Detroit made films heavily represented in this year's Horror Fest

Detroit will be well represented in films released in the next few months as well as this year's Horror Fest.

Excerpt:

First up is "Butterfly Effect: Revelation" as part of the third annual After Dark Horrorfest, an eight-title program of new horror films that will be showing at the AMC Forum 30 (44681 Mound Road, Sterling Heights) and Emagine Canton (39535 Ford. Road, Canton) between Friday and Jan. 15.

This second sequel to the 2004 sci-fi tale finds Sam (here played by Chris Carmack) trying to solve a string of murders by time traveling. The movie was filmed at Detroit-area locations last summer, including Foran's Irish Pub and the Highland Park Ford plant.

Other films in this year's third annual Horrorfest include "Autopsy," "The Broken" and "Slaughter," all showing here before they get released on video. More than 50 theaters nationwide are hosting the event. For more info and times, go to www.horrorfestonline.com.
