210 real estate professionals from the Midwest attended the Commercial
Real Estate Women Detroit (CREW) conference at the Renaissance Center,
at which waterfront redevelopments were a top discussion.

Faye Alexander Nelson, president and CEO of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, outlined how seed money from the Kresge Foundation
is being used as a catalyst to promote $1 billion in economic
development on the riverfront through public and private investment.
"It
was a real tough situation for our community," she said. "There was no
public access; now we’re 80 percent complete on the east riverfront
RiverWalk."
