Plans to support the city's creative class are moving forward, including an idea to establish "creative zones" within the city.

Sabrina Keeley, vice president of Detroit Renaissance, said teams
working on the follow-up to the study are working on plans to achieve
the goals, including the creative zone concept. Expanding Detroit's
creative community was one of six recommendations to push economic
revitalization outlined in the $150,000 study completed by
Washington-based New Economy Strategies.
There could be one or multiple creative zones, Keeley said.
Neighborhoods such as Midtown, Eastern Market, Brush Park and a segment
of downtown are all being evaluated.
