Forget New Year’s Eve or Valentine’s Day. The busiest night of the year
for many upscale downtown restaurants is the night of the Auto Show’s
Charity Preview.

Excerpt:

“It’s the biggest night of the year for us,” said Opus One owner Jim Kokas. “We’ve been sold out for weeks. As a matter of fact, this year we were sold out quicker than in recent years.”

Kokas
said Opus One also offers a five-course meal that includes a bottle of
Opus One wine from Opus One’s winery in Oakville, Calif., for $580 per
couple.

The first course is a round of appetizers for those who
arrive before the Charity Preview starts. Then, Opus One shuttles
customers to the event in buses.

“And then you come back, and we have your table waiting for you whenever you want to sit down,” Kokas said.
