Copper ziggurats replaced at Book-Cadillac

The latest visible improvement to the Book-Cadillac is the replacement of the copper ziggurats that top the building along its Washington Blvd. frontage.

The restoration is part of the $180 million project that will convert the Louis Kamper-designed building into a 455-room Westin Hotel and 67 upscale condominiums. The interior will include the return of Italian Renaissance-style ballrooms, three nationally known restaurants, a spa and sports bar. The target for opening is late 2008.
