If kids grew up to become just what they see on television, we'd have nothing but cops, lawyers and crime scene investigators.
That bugs Darron Green, an architect with Detroit-based SmithGroup,
who'd like to see more young African-American men and women at least
consider architecture as a career.
To that end, Green and other minority designers this week established a
new chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects in
Detroit. Green, who serves as chapter president and chairman, said the
goal is to provide fellowship and support to black architects and
would-be architects.
