Archer may not still be mayor, but he remains committed to Detroit's success

With regional cooperation on his mind, former mayor Dennis Archer cheered Detroit's successes while at the Mackinac Policy Conference last week.

"I think it's great to find more groups participating and more cities working together," Archer said.

Archer compares the time it has taken to achieve regional cooperation to the time it took to build Comerica Park in Detroit. Dreams of building a new ballpark passed from one Tigers owner to another and from former Detroit Mayor Coleman Young to Archer before it came to fruition.
