The Detroit Artists Market's Art for the Holidays show is a chance to find unique holiday gifts hand-crafted by local artists.

"Our mission is to help local artists," said [gallery manager Sarah] Balmer, 36, a Rochester resident.
The market offers men and women working in different mediums a chance
to show off what they can do and to meet up with patrons interested in
helping them with their career, said Balmer.
People who stop by during the show, going on now through Dec. 22, may
purchase everything from sushi plates and hand-stitched Christmas cards
to collages and hand-blown glass ornaments. There are nearly a thousand
items, priced from $5 to $500, Balmer said.
