General will return downtown

The 16-foot statue of Gen. Casimir Pulaski will now return to downtown Detroit.

The bronze statue of Gen. Casimir Pulaski that was dedicated in 1966 and designed by Bruno Nowicki and sculpted by Ferenc Varga, will now return to downtown Detroit this month. 

The statue was removed about a year ago during construction on Washington.

Venus Bronze Works Inc., a private Detroit conservation company, is said to be cleaning the statue and pouring a new foundation.
