City firehouses compete for HGTV makeover
Maxwell House and HGTV are co-sponsoring a contest, called Spruce Up
Your Firehouse, in 10 cities — including Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago and
Philadelphia — in which two firehouses in each city compete to win a
$10,000 makeover.

According to the story:
In Detroit, two finalists — Engines 52 and 44, on Manistique and West
7 Mile, respectively — were chosen from eight entries. Officials from
each firehouse submitted a photograph of the room they want renovated
and wrote a 250-word essay explaining why they deserve the dough.
