East Side Holiday Village party on Jefferson Ave

The Jefferson East Business Association (JEBA) has its annual outdoor celebration, the Eastside Holiday Village this weekend. The family-friendly event is 2 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 at theRiverbend Plaza (one block east of Dickerson on E. Jefferson Ave in Detroit) and includes a variety of offerings. It’s great for children of all ages.
As part of JEBA’s larger effort to foster economic development on Detroit’s lower east side, the Eastside Holiday Village will spotlight the unique Jefferson-Chalmers waterfront community while also providing local businesses and residents with a seasonal celebration. This year’s festivities include live performances from local school children, music by DJ Kenny J, face painting, magicians, a holiday float from the Parade Company, gifts for children, craft workshops, treats and most importantly: the horse-drawn carriage arrival of Ol’ Saint Nick.
