Blumz,
a Detroit florist, has a new location in the Tobin Building at the
corner of Broadway and Gratiot — a corner that historically housed a
flower shop.

“This is a wonderful intersection to watch the rebirth of buildings
around us,” says Robbin Yelverton, owner. “We wanted to be a part of
all the wonderful things going on downtown.”

This is the second Blumz location; the other is in the First National Building on Woodward.

The Blumz on Broadway is “geared towards all the people moving
Downtown,” Yelverton says. “The interior has a loft feel.” The interior
hallway will also serve as a gallery, displaying paintings,
photographs, and more. Yelverton also plans on adding a spin to the
artwork by creating floral arrangements that mimic the art.

Blumz is a full-service florist that additionally works with
corporations and special events and offers plants, containers, and gift
items on top of fresh flowers. Their hours are Monday through Friday
from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
