Architects spruce up Downtown windows for Super Bowl visitors
Members of the American Institute of Architects Detroit last week expected to finish dressing up 22 downtown storefront windows along Woodward Avenue just in time for the Motown Winter Blast and Super Bowl XL.
Excerpts from the article:
The institute recruited its members, local architecture firms and local schools of architecture to create and install temporary designs featuring children, automobiles, skyscrapers, made-in-Detroit logos and vintage photos of Detroit.
AIA is collaborating with the Downtown Detroit Partnership on the project, which is co-sponsored by the Greater Detroit Chapter, Associated General Contractors of America. The designs will remain on display until mid-February.
