Magic Stick

Dec. 23, 8 p.m.

This annual rock’em sock’em holiday extravaganza speaks for itself. It needs little help to sell itself to its slavish fan base. But to all you amplified Detroit guitar band newbies, here’s one just for you. A night featuring some of the city’s best performers, most of whom will be in the holiday spirit world for this show, guaranteed.

This year’s show, the eighth in a series, features: the Hard Lessons, the Satin Peaches, Silverghost, Friendly Foes, The Go, Hounds Below, Mick Bassett and the Marthas, A Kroha Family Smithmas, Outrageous Cherry, Allan James and Cold Wave, The Mydols, The Oblesons, the Barrettes, Fawn, Duende!, Amy Gore, The Octopus, Those Transatlantics, Old Empire, the Pop Project and American Mars.

All are part of the Detroit Sounds and Spirit Spectacular, at the Magic Stick, 4120 Woodward Avenue, in Detroit’s Midtown.
