Upscale
downtown restaurant Sweet Georgia Brown’s recently underwent a design
makeover with its new ownership. With an updated interior and an 85
percent new menu, the Detroit favorite has seen significant changes
while retaining its Southern-themed cuisine and ambiance.

New
owners Derrick Coleman and Kevin Ransom joined partner Frank Taylor in
purchasing Sweet Georgia Brown’s last March and reopened earlier this
summer.

“We are excited to show the sophisticated
new look of Sweet Georgia Brown’s to our long-standing customers and to a
whole new audience of Detroit diners,” says Frank Taylor, president of
the Southern Hospitality Restaurant Group.  “Sweet Georgia Brown’s
combination of delicious food, beautiful décor, and incomparable
service was truly the first great restaurant to put Detroit on the
culinary map.”
