MGM Grand moves ahead on permanent facility
With the ban on permanent casinos lifted in April, MGM Grand Detroit is updating their plans.

The Detroit MGM Grand has begun work to clear a site for its new casino, visual evidence that permanent casino and hotel establishments will rise in the city.
The site at Bagley Street and the Lodge has crews working to remove utilities from the 25 acres.
A groundbreaking date has not been set, and final designs need approval form Las Vegas-based MGM Mirage Inc.
MGM said three years ago that its permanent facility would cost $575 million to build. But it has been hinted that it will be more than that as the figures are updated to today’s dollars.
Additionally, the Greektown Casino and MotorCity Casino are also working on permanent facilities in the city.
