Claire Nelson and Francis Grunow have opened the Bureau of Urban Living, a 600-square foot home accessories store at the Canfield Lofts.

Excerpt:

They hope the store’s location within
walking distance of Wayne State University, four condo loft
developments and popular spots such as the Avalon Bakery and Traffic
Jam and Snug restaurant draws foot traffic and offers the
neighborhood’s residents a place to find everyday items without having
to leave the city.

“We would have to drive to the suburbs to buy
bath towels or wine glasses or a modern housewarming gift for a
friend,” Nelson said. “We want Bureau to be a destination for people
who’d rather shop locally and spend their dollars in the city.”

The
store will offer online shopping, gift registry, gift cards and local
delivery. Bureau plans to keep a wish list of items that customers
request and add products over time.
