Tour de Troit gears up to roll this weekend

Roosevelt Park

Sept. 15, 9 a.m.

Last year’s Tour de Troit attracted over 4,400 cyclists — a record turnout — and helped to fund planning, development, administration and wayfinding for the Southwest Detroit Greenlink, a series of bike lanes and off-road pathways that connect the neighborhoods of Southwest Detroit to each other and to the Detroit River.

The 2012 ride is this Saturday for Sept. 15. Register here. This event may sell out, so on-site registration may not be available.

The Tour de Troit raises awareness of biking as a mode of transportation, publicizes the growing greenways network in Detroit and all of Southeastern Michigan; and raises funds for the greenways in Detroit, including the Southwest Detroit Greenlink.

Come to Roosevelt Park, at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and 14th Street, at 9 a.m. ready to ride.
