This year's State Fair ups the technology ante

Technology and the Michigan State Fair might not seem like peas and carrots, but this year, there will be a Science and Technology building that will touch on biofuels, among other topics.

Steven R. Jenkins -- the fair's general manager since April -- and his staff are doing more than ever before to showcase Michigan's technological prowess at the fair, alongside the best ear of corn or bottle of wine.

It's all a part of making the State Fair a showcase of the best of everything Michigan, Jenkins said in an interview with WWJ Newsradio 950 news staffers Friday.
