On Feb. 16, 2018, four Detroit entrepreneurs told their stories of business ownership at Startup Story Night. Sponsored by Model D and the New Economy Initiative, the second annual event was hosted by Satori Shakoor and her platform The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

The third entrepreneur to take the stage was Jeanette Pierce, founder of the Detroit Experience Factory, a social venture that helps newcomers and locals alike get more connected to the people, places, and projects of Detroit.

We’re excited to announce the Startup Story Night 2019: “Don’t Call It a Comeback” event.

And we’re seeking your assistance in identifying entrepreneurs who would be interested in a storytelling opportunity. Share YOUR story of taking your business from the brink to triumph.

Four lucky storytellers will have the opportunity to workshop their story with Shannon Cason — host, MainStage storyteller and GrandSlam champion with The Moth — and perform it in front of a live audience at The Marble Bar on Thursday, March 21, 2019. RSVP for the event here

Share  your experience below by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019,  for a chance to present at this year’s storytelling event!
