WillDo Designs launches out of Detroit Creative Corridor Center

Willie Donwell II has worked in graphic design for a few years now, trying to find news ways to translate art into graphic design. He and some partners are working to do that more effectively now by launching WillDo Designs from the Detroit Creative Corridor Center.

"I felt it was about time to put my hat in the ring," Donwell says.

WillDo Designs is part of the Detroit Creative Corridor's Venture Accelerator program, which is clustering a number of raw creative-based entrepreneurs looking to building businesses in the College of Creative Studies campus in New Center. The synergies that can come from that sort of cluster made the decision to join and east one for Donwell.

"The creative input you can get from having creatives five feet away is great," Donwell says.

The 20-something and his two partners plan to continue building up WillDo Designs over the next year as they work through the Venture Accelerator program. They plan to claim their own space in downtown Detroit and begin capturing more work from the state and then the country.

"That will bring more business back to Detroit," Donwell says.
