Todd Ridley was there when the organizers of the Detroit Creative Corridor Center started putting the small, creatively inclined business incubator together. Ridley helped create its online presence and marketing strategy together. It's a project that led to his own start-up,
Left Bank Creative.
"I always wanted to have my own agency," Ridley says. "I want it to be Detroit-centric."
Left Bank Creative is one of the first participants in the
Detroit Creative Corridor Center's Venture Accelerator program. The 3-month-old firm specializes in branding and website development. Ridley plans to take advantage of the large stable of freelance talent in the city to flesh out his workforce.
The Detroit Creative Corridor Center's
Venture Accelerator program is an intense, year-long program where the center's staff helps fledgling, creatively inclined start-ups form a business plan and execute on it. Ridley plans to use that as a basis for launching his company and hiring a full-time employee or two once Left Bank Creative graduates. He also plans to establish his business in the greater downtown area over the next year.
