Franco PR hires 3, including intern, as it racks up new clients

Franco Public Relations Group is channeling a sizable chunk of its recent growth from within. The downtown PR agency has recently hired three people in the last six months, including one of its interns.

"She was an intern and we hired her. We're looking for another intern now," says Maria Leonhauser, president of Franco Public Relations Group. "We do that a lot. If we get a good intern we keep them."

Franco Public Relations Group's staff now stands at 16 people strong thanks to some recent growth to the company's client roster. The company based in the Renaissance Center (it has been there since the building opened) has attracted a half dozen new clients from a variety of industries, such as downtown Detroit's Hard Rock Café, Haartz Corp (an auto supplier) and Union Brewery, which consists of Bastone, Café Habana, Vinotecca and Commune Lounge in downtown Royal Oak.

"Things are really happening," Leonhauser says. "We have a lot of new business opportunities. It hasn't been this strong in a while."
