Concept Factory chooses Elevator Building for touch-screen work

Two things stand out for the Concept Factory these days: the right place and the right time. That goes for both its new location (Elevator Building) and business plan (developing touchscreen interfaces).

"That's really taking off," says Brian West, CEO of Concept Factory. "We're in the right place and the right time in history."

Concept Factory is designing touch screen interfaces for the likes of the iPhone, iPad and automobiles. Some of its products have begun to appear in Ford vehicles in the last year with more to follow later this year. That growth has allowed the company to hire eight people over the last year, expanding its staff to 32 people.

About 20 of those employees will work from the Concept Factory's new digs in the Elevator Building after moving from Southfield. West hopes to add another six people to his staff later this year in a building West describes as "very cool," "awesome location" and "cool history."

Our view is literally of a state park, light house and the river," West says. "We also get to see the Globe Trading Building, which is cool."
