Detroit celebs to hype up excitement for the Super Bowl

Through a series of television spots and radio ads, Detroit’s finest will help build excitement for city’s big events.

Ben Wallace, Barry Sanders, Steve Yzerman, Gov. Jennifer Granholm and other local celebrities are set to go on the air to help Detroiters get psyched up for Super Bowl XL.

The sports, political and show business stars will appear in a series of 30-second television and radio commercials to give area residents a sense of pride as the Feb. 5 Super Bowl draws near.

“The purpose of this campaign is really to build excitement with the fact that the Super Bowl is coming,” said Ken Kettenbeil, spokesman for the Detroit Super Bowl XL Host Committee. “We’ve used Super Bowl as a way to celebrate Detroit.”
