Techno Militia takes over Detroit Threads for Record Store Day
April 21, Noon – 11:30 p.m.
One of our favorite record stores, Detroit Threads in Hamtramck, is getting a handsome reputation for hosting some of the best in-store events in town. Talented DJs descend upon Mikel Smith’s turntables during Movement Festival weekend, Labor Day weekend (when Hamtramck has its three-day street party), Fat Tuesday/Paczki Day and International Record Store Day, which celebrates independent vinyl sellers the world over every April.
Once again this year, the good folks from Detroit Techno Militia will fill the store with rhythms and sounds. They make sure to create a family friendly environment and encourage adults to bring their kids and vice versa.
Here is this Saturday’s lineup: Noon – 2 p.m. DJ Bet vs. Benji Hayes; 2-3 p.m. Monomer; 3-4 p.m. Big Joe Hix; 4-5 p.m. Superjoint; 5-6 p.m. Gary Martin; 6-7 p.m. DJ Disc; 7-8 p.m. Jesse James; 8-9:30 p.m. DJ Psycho and 9:30-close Neil V.
Detroit Threads is at 10238 Joseph Campau, Hamtramck.
