Kathleen Owsley takes over the reins as director of the One D collaboration on January 2. She aims to raise the project’s profile and increase community outreach.

Excerpt:

One D, which was formed last year, is a collaborative effort of six
regional civic organizations: The Cultural Alliance of Southeastern
Michigan; The Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau; the
Detroit Regional Chamber; Detroit Renaissance; New Detroit; and United
Way for Southeastern Michigan. The organizations set up One D to
facilitate cooperation around economic prosperity; educational
preparedness; quality of life issues; race relations; and regional
transit.
