Music appreciation: Magic Stick hosts free event to honor customers

Hot on the heels of a splendid New Year’s Eve extravaganza that featured parties at the Cafe (Macho City/Haute2Death/the Replicas), the Magic Stick (Druid Perfume/Infinity People/Silverghost) and the Theater (Funk Night DJs and live performers), Midtown’s Majestic Center stays on a roll with this weekend’s Customer Appreciation Night. Yes, that means no cover, plus free domestic drafts from 9 to10 p.m., free food (until it runs out), and free pool all night upstairs at the Magic Stick. That’s where you’ll want to be, rockers.
Free this and that should get you in the door. The music will keep you there. DJs Keep On Trash (Italy Records’ Dave Buick and John Szymanski of the Hentchman) and Detroit bands the Sugarcoats and Gardens; and New Jersey’s Liquor Store and Highest Power plan to keep it hot on a cold winter’s night, 9 p.m. – 2 a.m.
