Model D Turns One

Come celebrate our first year of telling the story of Detroit’s transformation.
We’ll take over CampusMartius Park downtown starting at 5 p.m.
Friday, June 23.
The party is also part of first Fourth Friday celebration, to be held each month in the park.
From 5-7 p.m., Model D brings Odu Afrobeat Orchestra and Detroit DJs Liz Copeland (of WDET) and Clark Warner to the Campus Martius stage. They will be followed by the Fourth Friday headliner, the Chicago Blues Reunion, at 7 p.m.
The free party also will feature an artists market, food vendors, plus live broadcasts from WWJ radio.
From 11-3 p.m., the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting a Doors Open Detroit attractions fair, featuring places to visit and things to do in the city.
From 5-7 p.m, City Living Detroit is hosting a City Living fair, showcasing lofts, condos, apartments and city neighborhoods.
