A new $6 million youth center was unveiled on May 3 on the Herman Gardens redevelopment site on Detroit's west side. The youth center is one component of a $300 million redevelopment of the 139-acre site.

The center was created in collaboration with the NFL, the Detroit Super
Bowl XL Host Committee, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development, the City of Detroit and community leaders.
When it opens in mid-June, the center will provide recreational and educational opportunities for hundreds of children.
