Detroit Ignition to restart city’s professional soccer team

The Major Indoor Soccer League on
Wednesday announced that a new team — the Ignition — will begin play
in the 2006-2007 season.

The Ignition’s home games will be
played at the 3,500-seat Compuware Sports Arena in suburban Plymouth,
and their head coach will be Mark Pulisic, a former indoor soccer star
with the Harrisburg Heat.

Previous professional indoor soccer teams in Detroit include the Rockers and the Neon.
