The definition of a frontier city isn't much different than the
definition of the word "frontier" itself - something yet undiscovered
and undeveloped, just beyond the edge of a settled region. Of course
don't take that literally when thinking of Detroit as the frontier. But
if you think of that in terms of searching for a new economy and
molding it into something new, well, Detroit is most definitely on the
frontier.

compares. Dubai might be globalization's frontier capital.
But to wander among the creative destruction dominating the urban
