As Cass Technical High School alumni celebrate their's alma mater's 100th birthday, the
Free Press talks to several alumni about the school's oft-profound effect on its students.

The bricks and boards have no effect on Cass' academic reputation,
which remains untarnished even as the Detroit Public Schools district
founders.
"As a 1988 graduate of Cass Tech -- and as every other graduate would
attest to -- it was a place where life lessons were learned,"
Kilpatrick said in a statement. "Its reputation for excellence is as
strong today as it was 20 years ago, and I'm confident the legacy of
this dynamic educational institution will live on for another 100
years."
