Cardinal Adam Maida dedicated the new Covenant House Life
Skills Center-Central charter high school on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. just east of
I-96.

Excerpt:

Maida told a crowd of Catholic leaders from across metro Detroit that
he hopes “to further enhance our use of closed Catholic school
buildings. I am asking my staff to look into ways we could make more of
these buildings available for groups wishing to provide educational
services for students.”

The new building is a 13,500-square foot, $1.3-million, red-brick
facility that adds seminar rooms, offices and a series of computer labs
to the Covenant House Life Skills Center-Central, a charter high school
that specializes in bringing dropouts back into classrooms.
