Good Wood benefit: Hamtown auction, fundraiser for Ride It Sculpture Park

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

10-22-9

May 26, 7 p.m. – midnight

Hey, ever wanted to own a customized skateboard designed by a great local or international artist? Or just want to contribute to a planned skate park in Detroit’s Power House/Bangla Town neighborhood north of Hamtramck?

Then come down to the new space 10-22-9 in Hamtown to bid on works starting at only 50 bucks. Most works are by local Detroit creatives and a few international artists and skateboard pros sprinkled in the mix. There will be 100 decks adorning the walls at 10-22-9. Each one unique from the next and leaving it up to the consumer to decide if it’s a one of a kind cruiser deck or an object that should hang on a wall. The starting bid mimics a retail skate deck price in order to guarantee every deck is sold.

May 26, 7 p.m. – midnight 10-22-9 is a newly-occupied storefront at, yup, 10229 Jos. Campau, Hamtramck.
