Satori Shakoor performs at the Charles H. Wright Museum Marvin Shaouni
Last year the
New Economy Initiative (NEI) and Model D hosted the first-ever Startup Story Night, where five local entrepreneurs shared the challenges and triumphs of growing their businesses live on stage at a standing-room-only event emceed by Glynn Washington, host of WNYC's Snap Judgment podcast.
We're pleased to let you know that Startup Story Night will return for the second year in February 2018. Our theme? "Love What You Do"—stories about the lengths entrepreneurs will go to do the things they love.
Four storytellers will be selected to workshop their stories with
Satori Shakoor of
The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers before performing them in front of a live audience at the
Charles Wright Museum on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018. With Satori's knack for sell-out shows paired with the beautiful venue (not to mention WDET on hand to record), this is a fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurs seeking creative ways to share their passion.
We're looking for a diverse group of entrepreneurs from across the region to submit stories. If you are interested in sharing your story on stage on Feb. 16, please complete
this submission form by 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 12.
Check out more details including a complete timeline of the event at www.StartupStoryNight.com. Watch the 2017 performances here.
