That's right, more than 1,000 lunatics came out to Cass Tech High School in downtown Detroit on a warm, drizzly Saturday evening to see the first ever match between the Detroit City FC soccer club -- and anybody.
The opponents happened to be from across Lake Erie, the club from AFC Cleveland, who did just enough to keep the beloved hometown Le Rouge to a 1-1 tie.
The teams are competing in the inaugural season of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
Our man Marvin Shaouni showed up on the pitch with his biggest camera and came back with some dandy action shots -- in the stands and on the wet grass. Enjoy.
